Mangla Dam, Ramkot Fort & Rothas Fort

January 24, 2009 leave Lahore (Pakistan, the most dangerous country in the world) for Mangla View Resort guest house overlooking the beautiful mangla dam lake.
We get there via GT Road, around noon, freshen up, and go down to the jetty for a quick picnic lunch and then a short boat ride to Ramkot fort in the middle of the dam on a small hill. After 15 minutes of almost 40 degree steep climb we reached the fort located on top of the hill with panaromic and stunning views of the mangla lake. Back to the guest house in time for tea. Dinner at the Club house and early to bed for an early start next day.
Early morning breakfast of the most delicious desi-style fried eggs, omletts and flaky and crisp parathas.
Next stop, historical Rothas Fort just off the GT Road. A breathtaking sight. One of the largest forts in the sub-continent build on solid rock bed. Unfortunately, like all heritage and historical sites, its lies neglected.  After spending time looking around whatever we could, we head back for home and get to Lahore just after sunset.
